We will collect clothing for distribution to
those in need at the Fort Street Open
Door Ministry in Detroit. People who need
clothes often are seeking to leave the
public welfare roles, and get into the job
market, but do not have one decent outfit
of clothing to wear to a job interview. Still
others have school-aged children who
don’t have weather-appropriate clothing
to wear to school during the upcoming
colder weather.
Please donate clothing, coats, shoes,
socks that are clean and in decent repair.
Fort Street Church requests only that the
clothing NOT be on hangers. Put your items in sturdy bags or covered boxes.
We also need volunteers for two-hour shifts to help load the truck from 9 am to 4 pm. Contact:
George Dwelley. Starting in September, stop by the Mission and Outreach table in Boll Hall
after services for more information and to volunteer as a helper.
